Highest-performing UrFU departments to receive funding increases, bonuses

As part of Ural Federal University's continuous effort to increase faculty salaries and department budgets, university Rector Viktor Koksharov allocated $318,000 in salary bonuses and incentive payments for the top five highest performing academic departments.

UrFU's Institute of Natural Sciences and a number of its internal departments placed first, second and third in performance last year. The school's Institute of Materials Science and Metallurgy, and the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science ranked fourth and fifth, respectively.

Each ranking university institute will receive additional funding to enhance its programs and promote effective teachers and researchers.

Bonus pay will be issued to faculty within the three schools in early June at the discretion of each department's director.
