Russian ministry of labor announces 2014 New Years holiday schedule

A recent draft decree from the ministry of labor indicates the Russian New Years holiday in 2014 could last from January 1-8.

The eight-day New Years rest period will precede three additional four-day weekend holidays during the months of May, June and November, Mir66 reports.

A four-day holiday will be observed May 1-4 for the celebration of Labor Day. Additionally, Day of Russia celebrations and the coinciding rest period will occur June 12-15.

During the month of November, a four-day rest period for the celebration of Day of National Unity will be observed from the Nov. 1-4, according to Mir66.

The standard three-day weekend for International Women's Day will occur March 8-10.
