Government sets aside money for Sverdlovsk parks

Regional leaders have set aside approximately $30.96 million in the regional budget for arranging multiple park areas in Nizhny Tagil, Pervouralsk, Nevyansk, Kamensk-Ural, Serov and Yekaterinburg.

Within the next month, the local heads of government will determine the exact list of parks and a schedule to bring them to fruition. The desires of local residents for these areas of relaxation were discussed at a meeting this week in Yekaterinburg, reports.

"These views, of which the mass is very interesting, we will try to take into account the maximum in the concept of the new park," Olga Gryaznov, the chairman of the Committee on Architecture and Urban Planning Kamensk-Urals, said, according to "Many of them are completely consistent with my vision, I think the recreation complex should be diversified, that is to unite and sports infrastructure and a platform for creative teams, and simple well-maintained quiet corners for relaxation."

While there are multiple private parks throughout the Sverdlovsk region, the new government-funded parks could allow local residents the ability to exercise and relax without corporate interference.

"Since the territory, which we plan to equip, refers to the urban forest, it should not be objects of capital construction," Gryaznov said, according to "But a small cafe, and toilets are necessary to organize. During the week we plan to prepare terms of reference, will be drawn up after the project documentation. Only then can we call the approximate cost of reconstruction. All should be well thought out: keep (updating) our own (park)."

Local governments must submit information related to land ownership and legal status of the parks to the Regional Ministry of Environment by August 15.
