Dmitry Hovakimian, the head of the club management control Ufights, created the event and led it as a mentor and coach to the students.
Hovakimian began the class by explaining that successful negotiations are successful because the participants clearly understand what they want by the end of the meeting.
He said that as important as theory is, reading books and sitting in a classroom will not teach successful negotiators. To negotiate, people must practice constantly.
As part of the class, Hovakimian divided the students into teams and had them participate in training situations during which each participant had to defend his or her own interests while maintaining the relationship for the future and saving face.
While Hovakimian said he could not make participants into master negotiators, he said he would give them all the tools they needed to become the best at negotiating.
