Music Review honors two Ural Opera members

Music Review, a Russian newspaper, recently bestowed its Person of the Year Award, as well as its Event of the Year Award, on the Ural Opera.

Andrei Shishkin, director of the Yekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theatre, was awarded for his work as curator of the "Satyagraha" opera. Choreographer Vyacheslav Samodurov, who directed the ballets "Tsvetodelika" and "Visions Fugitives," was awarded for his work over the past year.

Andrei Ustinov, chief editor of Music Review, traveled from Moscow to the Urals region to present the awards to the Ural Opera members.

For the past 20 years, Music Review has awarded Russian theaters with professional awards for outstanding accomplishments in the field of classical music.
