International study praises Koltsovo Airport’s passenger service

Koltsovo Airport recently received am Airport Service Quality (ASQ) score of 4.17 points out of 5 in an international review of passenger service conducted by the Airports Council International.

Koltsovo also earned outstanding scores for the airport terminal’s cleanliness (4.31 points), the staff’s helpfulness and politeness (4.26), the service personnel’s efficient registration (4.28), security (4.09), and the airport’s general safety (4.21).

Koltsovo officials attribute some of this success to the airport’s recent renovations. These physical changes have provided the airport with a more comfortable, friendly and lively environment; there are now 14 cafes and restaurants, a post office, a pharmacy, 30 shops, 15 ATMs and two banks within the airport. 

The survey also judged the airports according to other attributes: the wait time for registration, the courtesy of the staff, the availability of parking and baggage carts, ease of navigation, retail shops, VIP and business areas, airport cleanliness, the price and quality of cafes and restaurants, and the airport’s overall atmosphere. In recent years, the airport has added early check-in for passengers, allowing international passengers to check in four hours before their departure and domestic passengers to check in three hours before their flight.

Thanks to parking lot reconstruction expanding the lot size by 170 cars, the front parking lot now has 910 parking spaces. In addition, the airport now has modernized payment methods for short-term and long-term parking.

The average ASQ rating for all airports was 4.04. The international airport at Mauritius in East Africa earned the highest ASQ rating at 4.49.
