Yekaterinburg high school students perform at 'English Music Awards'

A group of 99 high school students from Yekaterinburg recently performed a selection of songs and dances for the “English Music Awards – 2015” at the House of Culture at Ural State University of Economics.

University officials said they found it encouraging that so many young people speak English and other languages as fluently as they speak Russian. During this modern era, youths are not just Russia citizens but global citizens.

Officials said the recent festival was proof that the students also understood the culture of English-speaking nations, not just the grammar. Such understanding will benefit future generations in Russia.

University Rector Mihail Fedorov was equally impressed with the students’ behavior. Fedorov said that they performed with the expertise of talented adults, not just high school students.

Tatiana Selukova directed the 99 students. She thanked the University and Fedorov for hosting the event.

"We are pleased that our graduates enter into your college and become successful," Selukova said.
