AvtoVAZ, Russia’s top automobile manufacturer, is trying to determine how the company can best join Skolkovo’s ecosystem.
Vasily Belov, AvtoVAZ’s vice president, said the manufacturer wants to implement Skolkovo’s advancements in technology. The company also wants to join Skolkovo for its conferences.
There are currently 49 Skolkovo startups exploring various options to partner with AvtoVAZ.
“We took the 49 startups whose products and services could, in our view, be of interest to AvtoVAZ,” Belov said during a visit to the company's factory in Tolyatti. “Several of them were immediately marked out as having potential, and I think in a couple of months we’ll see the implementation of their solutions at AvtoVAZ.”
Belov said he hopes to encourage his AvtoVAZ’s colleagues to join Skolkovo’s Startup Village and Startup Tour as part of the many changes being made at the company by Bo Andersson, the Swedish president of AvtoVAZ.
