The All-Russian Olympiad competition, which covers 21 different subjects, recently began its regional stage with 1,500 young participants from 56 territories throughout Urals.
The Ural Federal University is hosting the Olympiad. The competition began at the Ural Federal Institute of natural Sciences.
The four stages of the competition at school, municipal, regional and final.
The regional stage includes students between the grades of 9 and 11. The contestants are required to have received a certain number of points from winning the municipal stage. Winners from the regional stage of last year’s Olympiad also qualify for the regional stage.
The jury is comprised of top scientists from the universities in Urals. The competition standards are set by the Russian Ministry of Education. The standards will be used for all of the participants of the Olympiad; no partiality will be shown in the judging.
The regional stage will end in February. Then there will be an awards ceremony for the regional stage winners at the Great Hall of the Palace of Youth.
The Ministry of Education and Science is responsible for organizing the competition. The Center for Continue Education of Children and the Ministry of Education have also been instrumental to organizing the regional stage of the contest.
