Sverdlovsk provides housing for 260 war vets, disabled in 2014

The Housing Fund for the Sverdlovsk region recently provided housing for over 260 war veterans and people with disabilities in 2014.

In early 2014, local Sverdlovsk authorities updated their list of housing beneficiaries. The numbers of war veterans and people with disabilities stands at 3,775 families. In 2014, 240 of the recipients improved their living conditions through various means: 30 veterans bought homes with lump payments, and 210 people used social contracts of employment to find housing.

Between 2012 and 2013, 53 war veterans with disabilities received housing. This was made possible through a specific fund within the regional budget. Approximately 29 applications from beneficiaries for building permits have been approved in the past year.

In 2015, the budget designates more than $1 million (from the regional budget) and more than $2 million (from the federal budget) toward housing for war veterans and people with disabilities.

The Housing Fund regularly makes housing available for war veterans, families with children who have disabilities and people with disabilities due to general diseases.
