Young robotics inventors to compete Saturday

Area students will compete at the Race of Robotics on Saturday on the campus of Ural Federal University (URFU).

Competitors in grades 8 through 11, as well as those attending technical schools and universities, will display their abilities in creating and controlling robots.

As part of the competition, participants also will be able to tour the URFU’s robotics centers. The competition also includes an exhibition of robots and master classes that are open to all visitors.

There will be three categories of contestants – beginners, amateurs and professionals.

The beginners will not have their own robots. Instead, they must use robots that participants in a special master class will create for the contest.

Participants must register in advance for the competition.

The first regional robotics competition will be held at the university’s main academic building.

Details for the Race of the Robots can be found on the Youth Science UFU portal.
