The Sverdlovsk region welcomed the latest addition to Yekaterinburg’s industrial parks on Monday.
The newest addition is called University and is located on the new campus of Ural Federal University.
The building has a fully automated system to monitor energy consumption and maintain the climate. The building also features an information system that meets the highest standards of modern technology. Construction took less than 12 months.
Minister of Communications and Mass Communications Nikolai Nikiforov and Sverdlovsk Governor Eugene Kuyvashev attended the opening ceremony.
Nikiforov said the building is a jewel among Russia’s industrial parks. The industrial park will add to the area’s center of technology and innovation.
President Vladimir Putin first initiated the creation of high-technology industrial parks in 2005. By the end of 2013, seven high-technology industrial parks were established in Russia. Five more industrial parks were opened in 2014.
