Koltsovo Airport invests in maintenance equipment

Koltsovo Airport recently purchased new maintenance equipment as part of its goal to update its winter equipment to improve efficiency in the airport’s industrial services, passenger convenience and traffic management.

The airport’s purchases include two new FMC Tempest deicing machines. One of the FMC Tempests has a telescopic boom that can rise 56 feet into the air. This enables the machine to service any aircraft that passes through the airport.

The airport also purchased a Caterpillar bulldozer. The bulldozer is designed to place a minimum amount of pressure on the airport’s pavement, reducing the cost of pavement repairs. The machine’s six-way blade can efficiently remove the snow from the airport runways.

Other machines recently added to the Koltsovo Airport's inventory include three Toyota 2TD20 tractor luggage carts that can move 20 tons each. The carts can handle containers, trolleys, supplies or repair equipment.

The Koltsovo Airport also added five 10-foot pallet trucks for cargo transportation, a 20-foot pallet truck and self-propelled passenger stairs.

The new machines will be ready to begin operations next week.
