USUE delegation visits South Korean universities to forge stronger ties

In a continuing effort to improve relations between South Korean and Russian academic professionals, a delegation from the Ural State University of Economics (USUE) visited Incheon National University (INU) and the Korea National University of Education (KNUE) this week.

During the meetings, Korean university officials and the USUE delegation, led by rector Mikhail Fedorov, discussed efforts to strengthen ties and launch more cooperative efforts. The Russian university signed agreements with the Korean institutions concerning international exchange programs and other cooperative efforts.

The USUE representatives' trip to Korea followed a visit by South Korean youth leaders to USUE earlier this month. Fedorov was especially impressed with teaching techniques used in South Korea and provided an example.

"They have a unique technology training session at the beginning of each lecture in which the teacher devotes five minutes to ethics and conduct. As a result, ethical behavior becomes part of the company's management," Fedorov said.
