The unemployment rate in the Sverdlovsk region fell by 0.1 percent from November 2013, Ural Business Consulting said on Monday.
The regional government reported the unemployment rate was at 1.05 percent as of Nov. 1. Some of the cities within the region had lower rates.
More than 24,000 people were registered with the local government offices for job placement. The number of advertised jobs actually is more than the number of job seekers. Currently there are more than 62,000 job openings in the region. The vacancies are primarily in Yekaterinburg.
Trendingeconomics.com reported the national unemployment rate in Russia was 5.1 percent as of Oct. 1. In August, the Russian Federation saw a record low unemployment rate of 4.8 percent.
In the past, the Sverdlovsk region has seen higher unemployment rates, reaching as high as 10.02 percent in 2000.
