UBRD ranked 32nd on magazine's list of largest Russian banks

Kommersant-Money magazine ranked the Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development (UBRD) 32nd among the 200 largest Russian banks in terms of assets, the bank said Monday.

It ranked highest among all other banks in the Sverdlovsk region that made the list, having jumped four spots higher than its previous No. 36 ranking. It continues to thrive, as no bank has surpassed it since the previous ranking done by the publication.

Kommersant-Money's ranking was based on the amount of assets and capital held as of Oct, 1. UBRD had $4.9 billion in its asset pool. The bank saw assets increase by 23.8 percent compared with October 2013.

The top five banks did not change from the rankings done in September: Siberbank Russia, VTB, Gasprombank, VTB 24 and the Russian Agricultural Bank. All are Moscow banks except VTB, which is in St. Petersburg.

The next highest rated bank from the Sverdlovsk region was SKB, at No. 58.
