A crane manufactured by the Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant (ChTZ Uraltic) and is used to lay pipe lines will be used in the mining of diamonds, the Uralvagonzavod press service reported on Wednesday.
The crane was purchased by the repairs and construction division of ALROSA, a dimond mining company. It will largely be used in Mirmy, Yakuta where much of the country's diamond supply exists.
An ALROSA representative said this particular machine was chosen because of the lifted nature of its side beam and blade mechanism. This allows the pipe layer to be utilized year-round even with inclement weather conditions. The machine has multiple capabilities including lifting cargo, laying pipelines and a multitude of purposes in the land planning area of construction.
The Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant specializes in the manufacturing of tractors and other large, industrial vehicles. It was founded in 1933 and was a major manufacturer of military-grade vehicles during the second World War.
