McDonald's said Yekaterinburg restaurant to reopen

Ural Business Consulting said McDonald’s plans to reopen a restaurant in Yekaterinburg later this month after it was forced to close over the summer.

“We are definitely going to keep on operating in this spot,” the company said. “The reopening is expected at the end of November, with the exact date to be announced via the company website.”

Currently, McDonald's has 435 branches in 85 different cities across Russia. In McDonald’s 2013 annual report, the company named Russia as one of its best markets after the United States and Canada.

In August, the restaurant was forced to close after a provisional operational order. The Rospotrebnadzor, which is an organization that watches out for consumer-rights violations in the region, accused McDonald’s of violating consumer rights at the Yekaterinburg outlet branch and had it closed down.

Inspectors from the Reospotrebnadzor also shut down three McDonald’s branches in Moscow. One of the branches was located on Pushkin Square and another in southern Stavropol.

The specific branch that is reopening is located at 8V Vosmoye marta St in Yekaterinburg.
