Yekaterinburg named best MFC in Sverdlovsk region

Results of a contest to choose the best multifunctional center (MFC) in the Sverdlovsk region were announced Friday.

The contest looked at excellence in government centers and their respective employees as a way to promote open communication lines between residents and officials. MFC branches in Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Tahil and Kamenska Urals competed, with Yekaterinburg winning the top prize.

A program to improve the region's centers is runs through 2015, the Sverdlovsk press service said. Development in these centers aims to bring new and improved services to residents of the region. The contest aims to inspire the centers and their employees to work more diligently, Galina Kulachenko, minister of finance for the Sverdlovsk region, said.

Awards were based on the number of cases that were completed in each office, with consideration given to population sizes of the cities served by each office. Individual awards were given to Kutsenko Tatiana for best universal expert and to Olga Volkova for best administrator, both from the Yekaterinburg branch.

The winners of this competition will go on to represent the region in the national competition Dec. 31 in Moscow.
