Ural State Economic University holds open house for applicants

Ural State Economic University (USEU) held its annual Open Day recently to help applicants learn about the institution.

The event allowed potential students to learn about updates to the application process, sit in on seminars and receive answers to any questions they had.

Guest rector Mikhail Fedorov spoke with potential applicants in order to learn about their background. He explained the university's role in shaping international relations and the politics of the country. He also spent time describing the three modern tenets of Russian secondary education: knowledge, communication and the ability to work with the information given.

Admissions committee members then spoke to the guests.

Olga Lezhnina, a management and admissions specialist, announced the possibility of adding points to students' scores if they participate in volunteer activities and earn high spots in competitions involving core subjects.

Students and parents were then separated into seminars dealing with academic departments and other university matters.
