Yekaterinburg Opera, Ballet performers receive one of nation's highest awards

Last week, a group of soloists and musicians from the Yekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Company were awarded with various national titles for their performances during the theater's 2013-14 season.

Vocal soloist Elena Susanova was presented with the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation award--one of the country's highest artistic awards--as ordered by President Vladimir Putin on Aug. 14.

Soloists Natalia Mokeeva, Irinia Naumova, Alia Muratov and Olesya Mamylova also received medals along with Alexander Kulga and Michael Korobeynikov.

Meanwhile, violin concertmaster Inna Zhelenyakova and violin soloist Denis Zayntdinov received Diplomas of the President "For outstanding achievements, social activities and many years of diligent work."

The awards were distributed in a formal ceremony at the Yekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Company last Wednesday.
