Students to receive free internet, phone during programming championship

The organizer's of this year's ACM ICPC-2014, an international tournament for student computer programmers, announced recently that participants in the contest will receive subsidized internet and telephone connections.

The announcement came at a press conference at Ural Federal University, where the competition began on Wednesday.

Both telephone and internet connections will be available to participants at both UrFU and nearby hostels which are providing lodging for visiting competitors.

Telecommunications provider Beeline said it hopes that by offering complimentary internet connections, student programmers will be able to communicate with one another and increase the spirit of camaraderie during the competition.
