Cinema House hosts roundtable discussion with cartoonist Alexei Karaev

Last week, Yekaterinburg's Cinema House hosted a roundtable discussion with Alexei Karaev, the artist behind the popular Russian cartoon "Welcome."

A screenwriter, animator and academic laureate, Karaev is also known for his work on "Little Sparrow," "Dashing Captain" and "Field Marshal Pul'kin," Oblastnaya Gazeta reports.

Event organizers said the idea for the roundtable discussion came from the public's demand to interact directly with acclaimed artists and writers.

During the discussion, Karaev discussed his film production techniques ranging from glass painting to drawing. Karaev concluded the session by encouraging aspiring animators and filmmakers to pursue their artistic dreams in adulthood, according to Oblastnaya Gazeta.
