Ural Yekaterinburg-Tomsk match hosts rally honoring Day of Football, Friendship

During halftime at Saturday's Russian Premier Youth League game between Ural Yekaterinburg and Tomsk, the two teams held a rally in celebration of the national Day of Football and Friendship.

An annual international festival, this year's Day of Football and Friendship involved players and fans representing international youth football teams from Belarus, Bulgaria, Britain, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, France and Croatia.

During the halftime activities, players from across the world played a short game of football, and listened to short speeches from league officials about the virtues of peace, friendship, victory, health, equality, fairness and loyalty in sports.

Each of the 400 spectators at the rally received blue and green friendship bracelets, representing blue skies and green grass.

Football for Friendship is sponsored each year by Gazprom as part of the company's social outreach program.
