Sverdlovsk unemployment rate falls to 1.24 percent in March

The Sverdlovsk Ministry of Economics announced on Thursday that the region's unemployment rate fell to 1.24 percent this month, a 0.11 percent year-over-year decrease.

Additionally, the ministry reports that the average unemployment rates of 23 towns and cities within Sverdlovsk are less than the regional average, according to Ural Business Consulting.

State-run employment agencies operating within the Sverdlovsk region posted 40,256 job vacancies as of March 1. The number of job openings available within the region is 1.4 percent greater than the number of unemployed citizens of the region.

The majority of jobs advertised in the region are in Yekaterinburg with 22,211 vacancies, or 55.2 percent of the total number of job openings. Nizhniy Tagil has the second-most amount of job vacancies with 2,336 openings, followed by Pervouralsk at 1,733 vacancies, Kamensk-Uralsky at 1,726 vacancies, Berezovsky at 1,257 vacancies, Asbest at 775 vacancies and Novouralsk at 601 vacancies, according to Ural Business Consulting.
