USUE to host Pens Against Corruption journalistic awards ceremony

Ural State Economic University will host the Pens Against Corruption awards ceremony on Friday, acknowledging journalists for their work in exposing political corruption throughout Russia.

Organized by USUE in conjunction with the Ural district State Ministry of Internal Affairs and local public organization Center for Legal Practices, Pens Against Corruption accolades are awarded for five different categories: best journalistic anti-corruption materials in print, best news agency, best TV and radio broadcast and best investigative journalism.

Awards will be presented by Alexei Frolov, the president's regional plenipotentiary for the Urals region; Sverdlovsk Interior Ministry head Mardasov Nicholas; Public Council Chairman Nicholas Klein; Investigative Committee head Michael Busylko; Sverdlovsk Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Merzlyakova; and Sverdlovsk Journalist Union head Alexander Levin.

The ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. local time in USUE's Congress Hall.
