USUE hosts development conference for students, staff

Last week, Ural State Economic University held a scientific-practical conference on economic and legal development in modern Russia, drawing more than 150 students and professors.

USUE branch director Valery Tnevitsky began the conference with welcoming remarks, then turned the podium over to USUE Vice Rector Sergey Rogozhin, who spoke on the pressing issues currently facing higher education in Russia.

Later, municipal administration head Olga Lorenaeva presented attendees with current and speculative initiatives taken by local government to combat socioeconomic inequities.

Throughout the rest of the conference, several other members of both USUE faculty and the municipal government spoke on economic development topics. The event featured a performance by a live rock band and catered foods provided by members of the Russian pharmaceutical industry.
