Ural Federal University to hold Buddhist art exhibition

Ural Federal University recently announced that it wil hold an international symposium of Buddhist art in Ulan-Ude on July 25 and 26.

The symposium, "Modern Buddhist Art: Tradition and Innovation," will feature addresses from UrFU First Vice-Rector Dmitry Bougrov as well as some of the foremost experts on the art.

On the first day of the symposium, Elo Rinpoche, the head lama of Kalmykia Telo Tulku Rinpoche, will lead an opening session regarding Tibetan medicine and Buddhist philosophy.

Over the course of the symposium, scholars, artists and scientists alike will discuss all facets and implications of Buddhist art and architecture.
