Pesnyary founder Mulyavin honored with star in Uralskaya Stars Square

Vladimir Mulyavin, a popular Soviet-era artist and founder of the Pesnyary music ensemble, was honored with a star in his name in Yekaterinburg's Uralskaya Stars Square.

The installation of Mulyavin's star near the Variety Theater was part of a ceremony last week that honored the artist's contributions to Russian culture. Present at the ceremony were long-time members of the Pesnyary ensemble, including Vladislav Mishevich and Valery Daineko, according to BTA.

Following the ceremony, Variety Theater hosted a concert of Mulyavin's works as performed by the Belorusskiye Pesnyrary ensemble.

To date, more than 10 commemorative stars have been placed in Yekaterinburg's Uralskaya Stars Square memorializing the accomplishments of Yekaterinburg and Sverdlovsk artists, BTA reports.
