Yekaterinburg holds Holocaust victims memorial

A ceremony was held on Monday at the JCC and Synagogue of the Jewish community of Yekaterinburg commemorating the memory of the Holocaust victims who perished during World War II.

The ceremony featured a recitation of the traditional "Yizkor" prayer by the community's rabbi. Candles were lit in memory of the victims, FJC reports.

The ceremony also included presentations delivered by Deputy Governor Yaakov Silin and by Chairman of the Sverdlovsk Regional Association of Former Ghetto and the Nazi Camps Simon Spector.

Representatives and consuls from the U.S., Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Vietnam, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus also attended the ceremony, according to FJC.
