Leaders from the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry, international diplomats and trade mission employees of foreign states recently competed in the XI International Bowling Tournament in Yekaterinburg.
Thirty teams competed in the tournament, including 20 comprised of diplomatic mission members. The first-place team included representatives from Turkey, Mongolia, Nicaragua and Kazakhstan. The second-place team was from the U.S. Consulate General, and third place went to Yekaterinburg’s Committee of Foreign Relations.
Other teams included representatives from Germany, China and the Czech Republic. The largest team was comprised of the deputies of the legislative assembly of the Sverdlovsk region.
Diplomats from China said they are closely observing Russia’s economic situation and will determine an investment strategy accordingly.
This is the 11th year Yekaterinburg has hosted the bowling tournament, and each year more teams participate. It is a peaceful activity amid the sometimes-tense background of international relations, and the friendly, healthy environment temporarily blocks out wider global politics for an evening of fun.
