Socio-cultural contest offers more than $78,000 in subsidies

The Ministry of Culture of the Sverdlovsk region is accepting applications for proposed socio-cultural projects to be implemented in 2015.

As part of the “Cultural Development in the Sverdlovsk Region up to 2020" contest, the creators of the winning programs will receive $78,000 in subsidies to implement their projects in the area.

The contest contains four categories.

One category is dedicated to projects that will further develop domestic and international relations. More than $24,000 will go toward funding the winning projects with the maximum funds any single project can receive limited to approximately $8,000.

Another category is for projects that will improve the cultural level of the region. Officials have set aside more than $42,000 for these ideas with a single project receiving no more than approximately $7,000.

The third project category is preserving the memory of the Sverdlovsk region’s cultural and artistic predecessors. This project has more than $4,000 at its disposal.

The last category contains projects that will actively improve the qualifications for the members of unions. Innovators will receive more than $7,000 to implement these ideas.

The application deadline is Feb. 27. Applications are available on the ministry’s official website.
