The government of Sverdlovsk is holding a contest to determine the best coverage of drug trafficking and the anti-drug addiction society by the media.
The competition is open to television stations, online publications, news agencies, radio stations and editorial publications throughout the Urals Federal District.
Judges will choose the best news stories in several categories based on the analytical level, the depth of the topic, the clarity of the presentation and the overall expressiveness.
The contest is part of Governor Eugene Kuyvashev's priority to encourage healthy lifestyles, inform the Sverdlovsk public about opportunities to help drug addicts and families of drug addicts, and shape public opinion about the drug problem.
Materials submitted to the contest must have been published or aired between Jan. 1 and Dec. 30, 2014.
Entires are due by Jan. 30.
The grand prize is approximately $8,000.
