Ural State Economic University discusses development strategies

Ural State University of Economics recently held a meeting to talk about development strategies for the Sverdlovsk region, which will impact the area until 2030.

The meeting was held to discuss ways to implement the changes required by President Vladimir Putin.

Attendees included leaders from local industries and government officials.

The main topic of the meeting concerned Sverdlovsk as an international hub for implementing and developing innovative materials.

Such changes will impact the region’s socio-economic standing and growth.

The discussion grew heated when the attendees addressed which projects should take priority.

There was some overall agreement about making the production sectors the top priority. The meeting's attendees want to see Yekaterinburg become a leader in composite materials production. To do so, the area needs an engineering center to process basalt as well as updated mechanical engineering.

It is a complicated process because each layer of improvement affects another layer around it, which in turn affects the entire Sverdlovsk region in ways that must be thought out ahead of time.
