Sverdlovsk region's tax debt up 1.7 percent in October

The tax debt in the Sverdlovsk region increased by 1.7 percent in October, Ural Business Consulting (UBC) recently said.

UBC said the overall tax debt for the Sverdlovsk region now exceeds more than the equivalent of $8 million.

The Federal Tax Service in Russia said the category dedicated to the Sverdlovsk region has reached more than $500,000.

The overall tax debt sum has decreased by 1.2 percent from January through November. This figure totals more than $6 million.

These tax debts include fines and tax penalties for the Sverdlovsk region. The debts are under the control of the Sverdlovsk region’s tax inspectors. Since January, more than 683,000 tax levies and payment requests have been sent to taxpayers. Approximately half of the requests concern property taxes under the ownership of private individuals.

As of Nov. 1, the efficiency of debt recovery stands at 68.4 percent.
