Higher School of Economics ranks UrFU highly in several disciplines

Based on a study by the Higher School of Economics, Ural Federal University took multiple spots in top-five rankings for both humanities and science programs, the university said Tuesday.

The study, "Quality budget Admission to Public Universities of the Russian Federation in Areas of Training," gave UrFU's programs first place in library and archival sciences, and for its publishing program.

High-quality applicants in the philosophy department snagged the university a third-place ranking in that category.

UrFU placed fourth in philology, construction, religious studies and history and fifth in Oriental and African studies, cultural studies and metallurgy programs.

UrFU rector Victor Koksharov said the rankings show that the university has succeeded in providing students with quality programs in the humanities and sciences.
