Yekaterinburg one of top 7 cities

Yekaterinburg is ranked among the top seven cities in the Russian Federation, a Ural Business Consulting report said Thursday.

The Sociology Department of the Financial University, part of the Russian Federation government, rated the seven cities according to their living standards. The university also created a list of the seven cities with the lowest living standards in the Russian Federation.

Researchers studied only cities with populations exceeding 500,000 people. To verify the study’s findings as well as keep the results fair, they added two cities with populations smaller than 500,000.

Yekaterinburg’s living standards brought it to seventh place on the list of cities with the highest living standards in Russia.

The other six Russian cities listed as having high living standards were Tyumen, Moscow, Kazan, Krasnodar, St. Petersburg and Chelyabinsk.

Alternatively, the seven cities in Russia with the lowest living standards included Volgograd, Kurgan, Ulyanovsk, Omsk, Astrakhan and Togliatti.
