Russia launches anti-drug campaign

The anti-drug campaign “Tell Where They Sell Death” was launched in Yekaterinburg on Monday.

The Yekaterinburg Zoo reported that the all-Russian campaign will continue through Nov. 28.

It seeks to heighten the awareness of exactly how dangerous drugs are, both to individuals and communities.

Authorities plan to use the campaign to educate the general public with facts about illegal drug trafficking and the dangers of using drugs for non-medical purposes. They believe that connecting with local citizens in cities is key to defeating Russia’s drug trafficking problem.

The organizers of the campaign hope that growing awareness of the drug problem will spread information about helplines to individuals in need. Law enforcement officials started the helplines to assist people who may have nowhere else to turn.

The helpline will be open to 24/7. Treatment will not be denied to anyone.
