Sverdlovsk region makes changes in agriculture

Governor of Sverdlovsk Eugene Kuyvashev held a meeting on Friday with various authorities to discuss the role of imports in Sverdlovsk’s agricultural industries field.

The discussion resulted in a project titled “Development of agro-industrial complex.” Experts estimate that financial support for the project in 2014 will amount to approximately $111,310,250.

Authorities are discussing solutions to agricultural dilemmas.

“One of them — the reimbursement of the cost (to) agricultural producers for the purchase of agricultural machinery — has (been) resolved favorably, the necessary changes made to the federal government program,” Kuyvashev said. “On another issue — for reimbursement of food and processing industry of the cost of interest on investment loans — (we) started work.”

The Sverdlovsk region is seeking to enlarge its agricultural sector by modernizing equipment, partnering with companies in the Republic of Belarus and increasing production rates.

One partnership enlarging Sverdlovsk’s dairy production in Belarus is the Irbitsky Dairy Plant. Innovators see opportunities to use Belarus for food logistics centers to maximize transportation and evenly distribute food.

Despite the inclement weather in the past year, farmers harvested the same amount of crops as they did the previous year. The governor thanked all of the farmers for their hard work.
