Koltsovo Airport awarded for successful international postage, customs development

Russian airport Koltsovo in Yekaterinburg received an award recognizing its successful development of international postal services, the airport said Friday.

After opening the Koltsovo MMPO and the addition of a cargo terminal, the airport was able to streamline the postal process, which led to quicker delivery times. It is the first facility of its type in the Ural region able to handle international postage, reaching a monthly average of 700,000 packages.

"The development of this project was made possible thanks to the coordinated work and professionalism of all parties involved, as well as the fruitful cooperation with the postal administration of Harbin, China and Ural Airlines," Head of Cargo Marketing for the airport Andrei Denisov said.
